About International TelcomOur Mission and Values
Mission and Values There are two key aspects to ITL's past and future success: our vision of telecom technology and the values that we live by every day as a company. To reflect our role as an industry leader and to focus our efforts on opportunities ahead, we embrace our corporate mission: "To bring people together through enhanced, economically priced, international and domestic telecommunications."Delivering on this mission requires a clear set of values. These values are neither new nor unique, but are articulated to reinforce this mission. Great people with great valuesAchieving our mission demands great people who are bright, creative, and energetic, and who share the following values:
Principals That Drive Our Mission
The principals central to accomplishing our mission include:
International Telcom's Tradition of Innovation"I started with a vision of bringing people together throughout the world with the benefits of free markets, open competition and technology."
- A. Joël Eisenberg In 1958, the worlds of International Travel and International Telephone calls were limited to a select few and the very, very rich. In the 1960's and 1970's Joel Eisenberg opened the skies to the "unwashed masses" - nearing the deregulation of the Airline Industry the concept of charter flights and private flying clubs. In the late 1970's his companies Aeroamerica Inc. and Airclub International operated the largest fleet of privately owned Boeing Jet's in the world. After retiring from the Airline Industry in the early 1980's Joel Eisenberg saw the opportunity in the deregulation of the telecommunications industry and built the largest group of telecom information service providers in existence at that time. By the late 1980's The Megaquest Group had almost 2,000 employees with approximately 100 offices located in eight countries. The Wall Street Journal referred to Mr. Eisenberg as the McDonald's of the industry. After retiring again in 1990, Mr. Eisenberg reassembled his Megaquest team and founded International Telcom Ltd. ITL was the first to exploit the arbitrage opportunities on International calling through a newly invented technology, Kallback® . By the late 1990's the Kallback® system and it's look-alikes destroyed the International communications monopoly to the point where there is open competition on almost all International Telcom routes, and rates have dropped almost 90 percent.
